Macro Outing Pictures at TTDI Taman Rimba Kiara Park

There wasn't much to photograph, mainly due to the heavy downpour the previous night. So grabbed this shot of bamboo roots striking out from its trunk.

Yah sadly the place had been hammered by rain and was half flooded, the downpour from the heavens had sent most of the bugs into hiding.

Managed to get a couple of good shots, here's a quick one from me.

Some kind of hunch back fly eating a moth of some sort.

Was a pretty fun outing, found a good number of dragonflies, and decent number of spiders. Sucks though, that it was muddy there.

There was a LOT of ants there, lovely red fire ants biting our hands, necks, faces, ears and anything else they could rip their pincers into.

Quite painful indeed.

The Dragonfly chronicles!

Black and White Beauty - This one was hard to get..ultra hard not to blow the white tail and retain shadow details in the black parts..

_GAZ8006_RAWx800.jpg

This one has beautiful yellow and black wings but it wouldn't stay still and I couldn't get close!

_GAZ8016_RAWx800.jpg

This is the stunning red dragonfly that loves to blow the red channel on your sensor, not the common red/black kind.

_GAZ8045_RAWx800.jpg

Light Pastel Blue - This one was very active too.

_GAZ8062_RAWx800.jpg

And this was the only one I could get reasonably close to with some mad camping technique, thankfully it's not the common red kind it's a lovely green.

Nice pics, guys! At first, I thought noordin's was an extreme macro, showing some really close-up parts of an insect (like their receptors or something that extreme)

That park indeed has lotsa red ants ... and the kerengga type summore! They're practically everywhere, should easily making them an easy-to-spot subject for macros no need to hunt, no need to wait, they're everywhere!!! Just be careful.
