Bad Experience with Canon Service Center

Sifu,

My friend just brought a 450D from the Saujana (Canon head office) two months ago. The "leather" in opposite (front) side of shuttle button side (where the 450D label is), which we hardly touch, peel off. She went back to the service center/showroom to claim warranty.

Out of blue sky, the service desk agent deny her warranty claim with the reason that it is caused by chemical. However, there is no sign of chemical contamination and we hardly touch that side yet the service agent insist that it is caused by chemical contamination and refuse to service/rectify the problem. My friend requested the guy to give her an official explanation in writing. He refuses. Is this how Canon treat his customer... I think it is not so delight to hear this (conflicting with their tag line "delighting your way").

It is a shocking news to me after seeing a lot of praise in this forum on Canon service.

Anyone has similar experience to deal with Canon? Any suggest how to go about this?

My friend is very disappointed with this two months old ugly looking cam and the service agent.

Good day.

Recently just sent my BG- E2N for service- replaced the shutter button,
no problem at all- free of charge and the service desk agent was nice to talk with.
:-)

newdaddy. Who is mk? is there any person you know off who can help?

Based on sifu fellows advise, I can summarise the options so far as below:-
1. talk to another service agent (may not be effective but worth a try)
2. talk to service desk manager/customer service manager
3. write in a complaint

This is here-say. You're not the one that's affected so why are you the spokesman? Ask you friend to join SA and then we can get a first hand details.
