Kenneth,

You tried some close up shots ?
I find that using my Helios 44-2 that is where the lens excels, very sharp lens indeed.
The shots were processed using Picasa, nothing fancy.

Here is one off the 6MP Kodak DCS560, I like the colour repro of this lens :

This one is off the Canon 20d

Was playing around with extension tubes, uncropped

Show us the alicia-look alike. That could be one of the ultimate test for manual focusing.

Here is another shot from the German/Russian haul : CZJ MC-135mm f2.8 - this lens was bought with a Praktica EE bayonet mount, strip/convert to suit the EOS-1n/Kodak DCS520 2MP tif file converted to jpeg - no pp done. Shot on Wesak day 2008, evening sun.

Waiting is ......

lol, kk. cant show alicia lookalike over here. later she ban me for life

garlic: as for close up, here is a test shot at cameron's night market last week at minimum focus, wide open.
strawberry sample.jpg

not the best test shot, as it was quite a shaky pic. will post something else later and yea, i like the colour from this lens.

p/s: the chip from the adapter identify the lens as a 50mm f/2 instead of 58mm.

kenneth,

so you tried one of those AF confirm chip then, me I am still pondering over its effectiveness vs a split screen for my 20d.
maybe you can do a quick test, especially in low light condition

here is another Russian lens : Tair 11A, I got it dirt cheap, seller said its got stuck aperture but sold As It Is, turns out no aperture blades but at f2.8 it makes a great portrait lens. Shot with DCS520, no pp.

Focus on the eye & bridge

Was trying to close-focus, bit shaky

neoro,
Awesome collection !
Great perspective shot of the mall, sharpness all the way.
Did you bracket the shot ? maybe its my monitor but it could do with another +1/2 stop or so?

Well its time to get my tripod out to catch some festive Christmas moods.
