Cool Your Opinion - Taking Advantage when taking photos

What would you do if you see guys trying to take advantage of the fact that event girls are there to allow people to take photos with them?

While at KLIMS2010, I've seen quite a few times where guys put their arms around the girls and made the girls uncomfortable. Had to scold a few of them and there was a few times where I had to forcefully push their hands away when they won't relent even though the girls move away from them.

I'm not trying to be all holier than thou here but seriously, the girls are there to work and they are not there to be an object for men to touch any way they please.

What would you do if you see such a scenario whether it's strangers or your friend that ask you to help take their photos?

unfortunately this is not a new occurrence...
as far as I have seen it has been happening at many car shows...
some girls are ok with it while some are uncomfortable...

I'm glad that you are able to react in the way you did...
good to know that chivalry is still alive
however imo at the end of the day the girls will also need to learn to handle the situations themselves.... as there may not always be other people around to help them..
I have noticed the more experienced models handle it in different ways... at the recent F1 there I noted one even firmly tell the guys no touching...

but I also do feel that we should keep one another accountable and to create a respectful culture...
guess as photographers we can educate one another on respectful ways to treat the models...

True, the girls do know how to tell them wolves NO but sadly, some are so desperate that they force themselves on the girls. We also need to help look out for the girls as it's better for the wolves to know that the girls are well protected and not some helpless Red Riding Hood waiting to be devoured.

Just got to know from some of the girls at KLIMS2010, some guys was going around taking upskirt photos of the girls while on the pretext of taking photos with them yesterday. I'm not sure of the details of whether the guys got detained or not but will find out more when I get back to the venue.

Its getting sicker and sicker by the day. Really gives the rest of the photography community a bad name. Can't these people just stay at home and surf their favorite p@*n sites and do whatever they want in their own privacy and not do all these sick things. This is one real deterring factor for me to even attend events such as this fearing that I could be labeled as WOLF. Such is life....so I moved on to shooting macro.....away from all these sick people. I wish something can be done to really teach these people a lesson.

Sadly, these people might not get their rocks off Porn and rely on these form of cheap thrill instead.

What we can do on our end is when we see these kind of things happening, we step in and ensure what that the guy is caught instead of just ignoring the incident.

I believe that there's only a handful of these bad apples only and there's many out there who's still a gentleman and do the right thing.
