Canon Service Center; 50d top lcd window

Just sharing my experience today...
for those who own a 40d/50d (perhaps prior models too)...

I managed to scratch my 50d top lcd window while carelessly handling an umbrella. It was really annoying to look at as I always use it, the lcd and everything is working, but there's a scratch running thru it. Called up canon and fortunately it only costs rm45 to replace plus labor and they do it on the spot. took about 15 minutes--i was impressed.

and now it's just like new ..again, just sharing some info..

Delight to use but hard on the wallet? lol
so sony makes the lcd? i'm not surprised with today's manufacturing practice. maybe it lowers cost when some things are not done in house. who knows one day when cameras are 200megapixels, i'lll crack this baby open and see hehe

anyway yes, now i'm supercareful lol even bought a screen protector just for the tiny window! hehe
