What I did in the kitchen sink

Setup:

Gear: Alpha 200, 1870 kit lens
Lighting: 45 degrees from the bottom.
Container: plastic peanut butter jar, filled to the brim.
Color board: tupperware cover.
Dripper: water filter.
Focus: using a straw place on the container.
Trigger: manual, single shots.

Results:
A) Dancing Water Column

B) Bouncing Droplet

My first square crop.

Another one with purple color card, at a slightly higher angle. This one caught the water droplet bouncing up after hitting the surface.

Self verdict: I need a stronger light, or a better lens.

C] Water Crowns

With brighter light source from the bottom, I managed to crank up the ISO, reduce the aperture and use much faster shutter for these sharper images.

Light source from the bottom also render the background completely dark, which would otherwise dull and grainy.

Setup is very important if you do not have a very powerful lens.

4 units of these 12V 2W 5000k LED placed in a plastic container, covered with a glass plate. Butter jar filled to its brim placed on top. Everything is placed on a pail, under the shower head.

Sat on the bathroom floor for an hour.. XD_
