Capix: This shot is really really good, probably shot of the session. Two thumbs up! No need to PP. It's beautiful as it is...Well Done!

Littar,
Found your pictures are soft and a bit blur. Eyes are not sharp. Is it because of the manual lens?

I think he must have forgotten to resharpen the pic after resizing for web......IMHO its due to loss of detail as a result of it.

Yea, I realised that too. Softness appeared in half of the pictures taken that day. It could be due to the wide open aperture of the manual lens, or the very shallow DOF from f2.8.

With a very shallow DOF, focusing is critical. It could be as shallow as a few centimeter only, so chances of OOF is high (even with a AF assist chip).

Or, it could be loss of detail when i resized the picture to 400x600 for web purpose. I never know that I need to resharpen it after resizing, it's my fault .

0.001 cts from me.

i never got the luck/chance or whatever u called it for me to get a chance to take a sharp photo by 2.8.

that being said.... study ur tool, get the sweet point.
if u dun hit it... u'll never get it, but once u got it... u'll love it.

try stop at f5.6 and above.

i dun really see a big big problem by using 2.8 for a potrait due to the DOF..
if you are having difficulties to shoot at 2.8... u'll never able can make it for 1.8 or 1.4 or the extreme 1.2 / 0.9.

everyone love big aperture, but also having it's restriction.

Well. As you can see from my picture. I am using f2.8 as well. Focus on her eyes. I do resizing. But it is sharp too. And please remember that I am not using Photoshop to edit anything. But just a photoscape to enhanced and contrast only.

Check on your original picture which is before the editing. Is it soft and not sharp too?

Sorry if I am offense anyone here. I am trying to learn as much as I can... especially the manual lens function. As I have a mamiya 135mm f2.8 as well.
