White Coffee (a story), Ipoh Old Town

Welcome to Ipoh Old Town.

This is a condensed story of Ipoh Old Town culture revolving around freshly brewed white coffee, its accompanying toasts and the day to day life in a kopitiam.

I recommend you to take your time, stroll through old town
and see this album from the 1st picture for a hint of daily life in kopitiam.

I don't think I should flood all pictures into this forum so here is the entire album:

Also, Ipoh is a majority Cantonese speaking town so all the captions are written in Cantonese (or as close as possible). I'll try to do some translation here.

#1 - The story begins in Ah Chow Kipotiam
Location: Ipoh Old Town. Date: Unknown
01.jpg

#2 - Legend has it that people here walk with gusto and the kopi here are great.
It also said that people who come to Old Town are not old.
In fact, they came from all walks of life.
02.jpg

#3 - And you can see, the cross cultural phenomenon here had survived through war and time.
03.jpg

#4 - The crowd is here. See what I mean by non-old people?
04.jpg

#5 - Time to make some white coffee. Ahhh... smells good!

Our happy staff sister Xiong is a content woman leading her day to day life in a kopitiam.
Ipoh is not a big city but, it's a happy one. People are warm, relaxed, joyous, beautiful.

Food is good, places are nice, air is clean.

I mean, it's hard to find a place better than Ipoh where some of us call it -- Home.

#15 - If you don't believe when I said Ipoh is a nice place, ask them:
The Kopi master - Ah Siong

Thanks. Idyllic? I doubt it. But they are sure less stressed than us in KL, gets home earlier coz no traffic jam, save A LOT of petrol because distances are short, less burglary, less theft, and I think, they get to live longer.

Very entertaining series, there are still traditional kopitiams up north equipped with round marble tops & "far k yee" chairs but getting wobbly tho.

Its a shame the coffee master was OOF, it looks like they don't mind getting shot
