basically this is true...
most tickets are "booked" by those travel agencies...

if going in group... you guyz better book first...
don't end up travel 7 hours on wooden seats...

Anyway, if you guyz going to Sapa... don't miss Bac Ha market before coming back down!!!

It's actually about 10 hrs overnight train from Hanoi-Sapa. Bac Ha is do-able if timing is right.

Should be no problem as long as yr other half don't mind getting bored while we are shooting

As soon as you firm up your Hanoi assignment, you can already collect the train fares from those interested. The earlier the booking the more likely we'll get the tickets. There are sleeping berths on that train isn't it?

The only way for this trip to work is to give those interested one week max to decide and pay up. As with many trips of this kind there will be many FFKs because cannot get leave lah, wife don't allow lah and a thousand and one other reasons. So collect the fares as soon as possible and no refunds. That way those who are really genuine will be ensured that the trip materialise.

Yes, I was thinking of the same thing. Once I firm up the schedule, will proceed to collect $$$ at least to secure the train tix. Hotel is no problem.

The overnight train has nice soft sleeping berths... surprisingly better than our KTM train.
