Good Studio Light recommendation
I'm looking for a studio light under RM4000 at max with the following criteria:-
1) Stable color temperature. Mean no color shift as it gets hotter or changing aperture 2) Could withstand continous shoot just like fashion shoot without blowing the unit off. 3) Cheap maintenance and longer lasting sets. The model I'm considering is Bowens 200W, Elinchrom DLite4 or Aurora Genesis 300W because are of those are within my budget bracket. |

I'd probably go for the Elinchrome out of those.
The Bowens are good though, honestly it's down to which features you need, which accessories you can get easily and which system you prefer. They are all lower end models so they have some limitations.

you can't go wrong with Elinchrom D-Lite4 to go set which is about RM3k for a set of two strobes with stands and softboxes. exposure and colour temperature is consistent. although the casing is a bit plastic, but you can feel the build quality is way better than most china made strobes.
the D-Lites have two types, D-Lite2 and D-Lite4. I highly recommend D-Lite4 because the price is not much different than D-Lite2. |

i'd rather go for the cheap yet better setup
- umbrellas - stands - a bunch of 2nd hand speedlites (SB-600, SB-800) - some pocket wizards - a couple of backdrops - reflectors go Strobist! ![]()

however, throw in a few sets of speedlite pro-kit, the effect already very close to indoor studio lighting. |

Can I use cheap third party flash like Nissin? I heard someone said for radiop trigger must use Canon ori flash.
I had a china made radio trigger which only good for 1 flash. If I get another flash then I need to get 2 radio trigger? I just remember, nikon flash can be trigger by light. Thus if I use a radio trigger to trigger my 580ex, then could the 580ex light in turn trigger the nikon flash? Is this work for sb600, sb800 and sb900? And say if someone my 580ex mal function, can I use the radio trigger to trigger the nikon flash? ________________________________ studio light studio lighting Studio Lighting |
