Hong Kong?

Have you guys been to Seoul? there are about 20 shops like YL camera. Located along Nandaemun to Myeongdong. Bought 70-200 2.8 VR 2nd hand for RM4.5K and brand new tokina 12-24 F4 for RM1.1k only which is in KL I believe RM2K. Brand new 50mm 1.4 around RM750. 80-200 2.8 two touch 2nd hand about RM2K.

Flight to Seoul (Incheon) was about RM1.5K...bought during MAS fair. If MAS offers same promo later, you better go there and bring RM10-15K cash just for the camera and lens. hehhee....very cheap. You will be like in slr heaven. haha..

The currency was like 1000 won = RM2.55 when I converted it 1.5 weeks ago.

Those who are looking for old camera like FM2, mamiya medium format and etc, this is the best location. you can find hundreds of fm2, medium format camera here.

but remember, using credit card will be charged 10% for government tax. So better bring your cash. Last but not least, they dont speak english, only KOREAN.

hahahaa...why should i lie? . Very true. I dont speak korean, neither them to speak english. Im only pointing at the lenses or told them the lens type and asked for price. They took the calculator and showed me the price. After a bit negotiation (showing them the negotiation price on the calculator)..then came the deal.

D700? I think it was around RM6.3-7k. If ive not mistaken la.

true what wanzul said...

....best bring USD and can oso change at Namdaemun market [better rates too!] if you don't want to change your RM to Korean Won just yet!

....if you change to Korean Won and don't get what you looking for - you'd in for a helluva nasty suprise when you change the WON back to RM...

Just got back from HKG

Guys... me just got back from HKG and free advice....

If you go to Kowloon side... prices are targetted at tourists [hiked] but if you go to HongKong Island side... prices are cheaper... and the sellers somehow seemed friendlier too...

There is this Nikon/Canon shop just nearby between the AEX and Central MTR station... forget the name of the shop but got big sign... met a fellow by the name of Chow... very, very friendly and knowledgable... speaks good English too...

I'll see if I can find his number for you ...
