Red face Phailed Panorama Shots

Was taught how to capture some panorama shots by using several pics stitched together. So here's my attempt at it.

1. Stitched together using 4 photos.
Failed cause not sharp and the horizon as most of you can tell, is distorted even though i try to correct it. It's a 100degree shot of a port on the other side of the sea.

2. Stitched together using 7 photos.
Failed cause too much ghosting, the wind blowing about didn't help and create ghosting effect when blending one pic to the next.

Well, hopefully the panorama shooters here can give some tips on what is the best way to capture really sharp image without creating too much ghosting on landscape? Especially when there's a slight breeze blowing? Thanks yah.....

1st one try and keep your camera sensor perpendicular to the horizon to minimize barrel distortion.

2nd one only solution is to use high shutter speed.

I use the program Panorama Factory and use the Semi-Auto settings.
