Have just been thinking...

One can buy the m43 E-P3 kit together with the highly regarded 12mm f2.0 for about RM5300-5700 depending on accessories...

The Nikon D700 with a 24mm f1.4 would be about RM13,000.00...

Pros and cons:
E-P3 has 3 stops slower useable ISO of 800 vs 6400 of the D700...Advantage DSLR
E-P3 12mm f2.0 is a stop slower than Nikkor 24/1.4...Advantage DSLR
E-P3 12mm f2.0 has more DOF(less background blur..) than Nikkor's 24/1.4...compared at f2.0...Advantage depending on need.
E-P3 with 12/2.0 is less than 1/3 weight of D700 with 24/1.4...Advantage M43
E-P3 cheaper by more than 1/2(Not a lot!)...Advantage M43
E-P3 is easier to carry by a lot...Advantage M43
E-P3 has Video mode...till next Nikon model...Advantage M43

I'm not making any conclusions...performance wise it's still FF DSLR...ease of use(at a reduced performance) no doubt M43...The pricing is where a lot of remarks are forthcoming...It's not easy to put value to ease of use vs performance...

Yap,

Got my Omd 2 weeks ago...Wow! It's a camera that brings back so much memories of the old (om2n),but this little guy is injected with steroids.just fantastic.

Loved the 5 axis stabilization,it really makes the long legacy lenses much easier to use...l tested the 75-300mm indoors at iso6400....image was good and l made a A4 print from it...mine you l was using jpeg so no messing about with the lr3.

I am waiting for lr3 to upgrade the em5 into their system....meanwhile I'm going jpeg with the omd which is stupendous. How's your ep3? Bet you are having a ball of a time with it..... Oh yes l couldn't resist an Ep1 that was advertised in lowyat...beautiful white one with tan grip....very happy about that purchase too.

Got to go now...hope to hear from you soon.

Michael
