Yah same here, would prefer the signboard cropped or cloned out.

i understand that saintemilion might want to include the small building on the far right.

Lovely, the Burj al-Arab, on such a clear day too
I second zumi, too bad about the sign .... on the other hand it does give a scale reference of sorts

Perhaps a few more shots from different angles?
And welcome to SA

I have a different opinion regarding the signboard. I think it gives us the sense of distance and scale. It works for me. It'll work even better if the signboard is placed at the lower-right one-third focal point.

I can't imagine what saintemillion is trying to express here. Maybe he wants the sign where it is to give a sense of space. But if that is so than he should have included the whole sign. This picture however has many possibilities of improving, the colour, saturation etc. Nice composition though.

Most of us commented how the picture should be if we are taking it but I always try to visualise what the photographer is trying to tell me. His view.

Well IMHO he's trying not to cut off the outcrop coming from the hotel, which resulted in the sign also being in frame.

It would be nice he stood in front of the sign to get a clear shot of the Burg and the outcrop.
