Earth Hour - March 28th 2009

ShutterAsia is proud to be part of this campaign in Malaysia. Earth Hour was an initiative that started in Sydeny in 2007, where the 2.2million people took part by turning off all their lights for 1 hour. Last year 50 million people in 370 cities in more than 35 countries in the world took part.

This year, Earth Hour 2009 will be targeting 1 BILLION people on 1000 Cities around the world. So Sign Up and get involved.

March 28th 2009 - 8.30pm

How can ShutterAsia members get involved?

Step 1.
Sign Up at www.earthhour.org

Step 2.
ShutterAsia members go around and take pictures of buildings they would like to see turn off their lights during Earth Hour and submit them HERE.

Earth Hour organisers will approach the building owners and ask them to participate.

Step 3.
Take picture of the buildings at night with the lights on.

Step 4.
During Earth Hour, document the same building with the lights off.

Photographer's Needed!

During the Earth Hour "day", there will be several events around KL and other major cities. We will be needing photographers to cover the events and the buildings that will be switching their lights off.

If you can spare the time or would like to get involved in this Earth Saving event, let us know. I will be compiling a list on the first post.. Thanks

1) Cap Square - Confirmed
2) Sunway Pyramid - Confirmed
3) Starhill - Planning
4) Sunrise(Mont Kiara) = Planning
5) Penang - TBC

In addition, there will be buildings all over KL that will go dark! TO have a indication of who will be going dark, head to earthhour.org/malaysia (click support n look up supporting companies).
