OK guys. After got green light from one of the mod/admin...I decided to share something with everyone about this seller as i found he is not being honest making his sales...

I was initially interested with his Canon 135/F2

Lastnight
1st - I PM him lastnight after i put my posting...offering him a my price...intermitently from 9-11pm he replied my PM few times... but each reply is not clear - only 1 line or few words...I was asking about warranty, what come in package, condition and etc...) therefore i follow by sending him a SMS (found his no. in other thread) around 11pm++ 'repeating' all my question again.

Suprisingly within 5-10 mins he called me back (that was nearly 12am) from a different number, 1st thing he asked was "call me back, call me back"....i told him i was on low credit - prepaid, thefore he just continue the conversation.

2nd - My question to him was 'What is the lens manufacturing code and is this lens Canon Malaysia warranty ?' He said yes its Canon Malaysia warranty set..He said he dunno the code since he is upstairs now, can only check later when he go down...i said OK. Than call cutted.

3rd - Next with 5 mins he SMS me again and told me this "Oh i forgot, i bought the lens in Singapore but the warranty is unfill"....i started getting piss, than i told him a new figure *RMxxxx that i can offer to his lens now since its a Singapore set (consider grey set to me) + no filter (told him i have to fork out $$ to get B + W).

4th - He called me back again and told me actually he bought 2 units 135 F2 and now thinking of selling one since funding to get 200mm F2 or F2.8...i asked him were both unit 135 F2 bought same time, he said YES. I asked him how about the condition. He said Good, i asked him how about hood, he said OK but got usage scratches when you really view it really closely...than one funny thing he told me, " I cannot sell you my Original 72mm B + W to you since this is original and i cannot buy elsewhere anymore" ( i wasn't ask him to sell him his filter, just told him lower the price as i need to fork out $$ to get a B + W).

Than he said OK, so we 'discuss' talk about where about to meet up to deal (today)..I was asking him to bring both unit down to let me choose, he said cannot since he only bring one out tomorrow for his job (since u going to sell the unit, u still use it to do your job ?? Thats what my mind thinking)

He said he is from Seremban but will have job today in KL but his is uncertain about this location and schedule. He said If i DUN WANT his lens there is other ppl interested...even he can sell to his classmate or friend..so its totally upto him whose he wanna sell to. Told me also better buy since Canon going to increase price to Rm3.6K in Oct later....alternative he can also sell in SG since got ppl wants also (where after conversation the price is much higher than selling to me in forum)

5th - Between 12am++ to 115am++ We've been like SMSing at least 5-10 times ( i think ), slowly he asked me me why don't take the fish eyes together...i told him i know nuts about fisheyes....he just told me 'hey its very nice lens la, come la take both"....i simply asked him what the best price than..again he asked me back what is my offer. I made my offer and he than replied me with a price he wanted...i told him is out of my budget..so just stick to 135 F2 lens only la...

Today morning
6th - As early as 7am++ (before 8am), he SMS me again asking me what time wanna met. I only managed to reply him around 10am...but i did told him lastnight if i wanna meet, the earliest is after 5 or 6pm (my office hour) as i need to go bank take $$ also. Than no reply from him

7th - Around 11 or 12pm, he called me...asking me can meet @ 3pm to deal or not..i told him i am working la brother...how to deal...stick back to original plan la....i asked him back his plan...again he told me he not sure what time he will be free and where he will be

8th - In between this morning, i consulted few super sifu about this lens, review...advice...also asked for shop contacts (the get best price for brand new canon malaysia unit - and i got the price !) Same time i managed to set a firm location with this seller where to meet up tonight...- he did called me few time again said can switch location or make it earlier or not since not convinient to him and etc. I just told him that's the only time i can make it.

9th - After knowing the brand new canon malaysia unit price..my flame even getting hotter...since only Rm400 more ...so i SMS him around 3pm just now said sorry i have to call off the deal since new unit only few hundred more...he is like don't understand me by writing a SMS to me again 'So you don't want already"...i have to tell him YES since new one only Rm400 more unless he willing go down little bit more (which was my original offer) than i will sure take...

10th - Walao..guess what, he called me back again and said "Hey, where can you get so cheap brand new Canon Malaysia unit...the best i can get its (another RM50) from my price...i am sure the shop giving you grey set, you know what, they can even make a fake canon malaysia warranty card and lie to u with 3 years warranty but i am sure you cannot get 3 years warranty when u register online. I told him this shop is recommended by a highly respected sifu (by gimme me the contact)...he keep pushing me (which shop which shop)...of course i don't tell him)...then he said oK lor...

Next 5-10 mins he send me a final SMS again ..."New set is xxxx if lower thaty is greyset, i can comform(wrong spelling also) not belive you try it"

PS : He sound like Hokkien kids or a student...english kinda of broken (well nothing to do with this purchase thing)

* Thanks you for spending your time to read all this * Just hope everyone keep an eyes when dealing over the internet...

But he seems to be a sifu... even in my thread F1.2, he seems to be able to take good pics with F1.2 lens wide open at F1.2 here's what he said:

1. If there is too much hassle, pass off the deal
2. If the price is too good to be true, that's a red flag
3. Try get some personal references from the seller if possible. Whether he knows anyone of some repute whom you can double-check up with especially if the item value is on the highend.
4. A mobile handphone number from the seller for tracking is useless. Get some home and workplace address if you could.
5. And if you request a jpg to be sent by email for cross-checking, request some verification that your name is written clearly on a piece of paper alongside the item photgraphed to confirm he has it on hand.

Just some basic guidelines. They may be tedious but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

He will be back. If he does, how can the moderators know? Someone might get conned again.

One thing for sure, his English is BAD, he's BAd, BAD, BAD, BAD.

If a new user registered with a different email address posting a similar type of "offer" hope fellow Shutterasian will redflag the person, at least the moderators can check it out and make sure is not the same user coming in.

But then, I'm sure he'd have read this little thread and won't dare to come back again. LOL

My understanding is a member cannot make any post to sell item(s) in this Forum unless he had met the minimum 50-thread requirements. So even if he tries to register under a new nick, it would take him some time before he can pull off the same stunt again.
